Terms & Conditions

Last updated: September 5, 2026

Plain-language notice: this is a draft written for a small, actively-developed project — it hasn't been reviewed by a lawyer. Now that accounts, campus community features, AI-generated content, and moderation tools all exist, and before this project is opened up more broadly, these terms should get a real legal review.

1. Using this app

Forge is an early-stage project: a tool for keeping track of your own contacts, connecting with other students at your school, and getting AI-assisted help with your network — usable partly without an account, with more features once you create one. By using it, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, simply don't use the app.

2. Provided "as is"

This tool is provided as-is and as-available, with no warranties of any kind — including no guarantee of uptime, that it will be error-free, or that it's fit for any particular purpose. It's a project in active development, and features may change.

3. Accounts

Creating an account requires a full name, email address, password, and college. You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for anything that happens under your account. You must provide accurate information at sign-up — including your actual college — and are responsible for the accuracy of the contact data, profile information, and any Forum posts or replies you store or publish.

4. Your data is your responsibility

See the Privacy Policy for exactly how your data is stored, locally or in your account. Either way, you're responsible for backing up your contacts using the Export Backup feature — we aren't liable for data lost because of a cleared browser, a device change, an account issue, or anything else outside our control.

5. Data you import

If you import your LinkedIn connections, that data remains subject to LinkedIn's own User Agreement and any restrictions LinkedIn places on how exported data may be used. You're responsible for complying with those terms when you bring your export into this app.

6. Discover and Campus Forum conduct

Discover and Campus Forum connect you with real students at your school under your real name. Using them, you agree not to:

  • Harass, threaten, bully, or demean another student
  • Post spam, advertising, or content unrelated to campus life and networking
  • Impersonate another person, or misrepresent your college, major, or class year
  • Post anything illegal, hateful, sexually explicit, or that violates another student's privacy
  • Use information you find on Discover or the Forum to contact someone outside the app in a way they haven't invited

Every thread, reply, and profile has a Report option for flagging violations of this section.

7. Moderation and enforcement

The Forge team reviews reports and may, at its discretion: remove a thread, reply, or profile that violates these terms; reply to a report or feedback ticket; and suspend or permanently ban an account, temporarily or permanently, for violations. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what the team can see to make that call. We aim to act on genuine violations, not disagreements or normal campus debate.

8. Feedback and Early Testers

Bug reports and suggestions you submit may be used, without compensation to you, to improve Forge — including being shared internally, summarized, or acted on however we see fit. Don't submit anything through Early Testers that you don't want the Forge team to read and use.

9. Not professional advice

Nothing in this app — including any career-pathing, networking, or outreach suggestions, whether written by you, generated from a template, drafted with AI assistance, or received through Ask Lucky — is professional, legal, financial, or career-counseling advice. Use your own judgment, and treat any AI-drafted content as a starting draft you review and personalize before sending it to anyone.

10. Acceptable use, generally

Use this app for your own legitimate personal or professional networking purposes. Don't use it to store or process data you don't have the right to hold, or to harass, spam, or misrepresent yourself to the people in your network or on Forge's community features. Don't share your account credentials or use someone else's account without permission, and don't attempt to access another user's private data or bypass the app's access controls.

11. Changes to the service

Because this is an evolving project, features may change, be added, or be removed — including the AI features, Discover, Campus Forum, or moderation tools. Significant changes that affect how your data is handled will come with an update to the Privacy Policy.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, this project and its creator aren't liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including anything arising from interactions with other users through Discover or the Campus Forum.

13. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the project grows; the date at the top of this page will reflect the latest revision.
